Dillon Owen: "Glory at Sea" had a plot that had me scratching my head until the end. I was unsure of what was going on at the beginning and I was wondering if it was all a dream. However, everything was tied together at the end and everyone is reunited with their lost loved ones. I loved when the boy said "I want to bring my mother a bathtub." I was lost as to what that had to do with anything and then the tub sinks at the end and his mother is really dead. Very well done! What I admired most though, was the camera work done under water. Nothing was too dark and the appearance of sunlight gleaming through the murky water gave the subjects depth. Looking back, I thoroughly enjoyed this short.
I really enjoyed "Glory at Sea", it had just the right amount of hidden messages and ambiguity to keep things interesting. My favorite thing about this short were the underwater shots. I was really impressed with how they were able to capture the actors/actresses underwater, as well as, their ability to perform as well as they did. All around I think this production crew did an awesome job telling this story.
Hannah Altman: Glory At Sea is an interesting film. The beginning really captured my attention with the underwater scene and the voice of the narrator. The plot was a little confusing at times, but once it reached the end it all made sense and they were re-united. It was a cute, yet dreary film. Many great point of view shots were captured throughout the film. One that really stood out to me was the underwater scene at the end; I just loved the feel I got from it and how perfect the lighting was to where you could even see the bubbles and debree in the water. They did a great job capturing this story with a unique twist.
