  1. Dillon Owen: "Plastic Bag" is a film that is unique. The whole "I'm an object without meaning" has been done before, but how it is done is captivating. Yes, there is an underlying message within the piece, but it also works just as fine as a common narrative of a foreigner making his way through the areas he has never seen before. My favorite part of this piece is the locations and how little humans are used within the story. The forest area was amazing!

  2. Hannah Altman: I enjoyed this film a lot; it started off humorous and happy, then it got really deep and inspiring. It had an interesting concept, which made it unique and allowed it to stand apart from other films. I enjoyed the way it was filmed and the overall aspect of the video, but I feel like the narrator could have had a different voice; the script was great, I just wasn't too fond of the voice that was used. This is still one of the best films I have watched. The techniques used to film the bag flying in the breeze was great, I especially enjoyed the underwater scene.

The concept of the film and the freedom of a paper bag, and what all it experiences through its lifespan, similar to people, was a great idea for a film. I thought it was cute when he met the other paper bag and wasn’t worried about finding his maker in that moment. The whole film relates to the bag searching for itself, kind of like how people are searching for themselves, but through the eyes of a paper bag. I give the director a lot of credit for pulling this film off so well with such a brilliant idea. The ending of the film was depressing yet moving. When he said “I wonder where those pieces are now,” was really touching because we can all relate to losing pieces of ourselves through tragedies in our lives. I found this video really inspiring and one of the best videos of all time. My ending impression of this film was just WOW. Really beautifully done.

  3. I thought it was a pretty clever idea. I really enjoyed some of the shots and the way the plastic bag was implemented. I wasn't a huge fan of the narrator but he was okay. I found some of the moments comical, like the dogs poop part and how the birds were considered monsters. I thought the underwater shots were pretty cool. Overall I was impressed with the simplicity of the idea and how well the filmmakers put it together.

  4. This short film "Plastic Bag" was okay. I first want to say that I very much respect the film markers for their patience, getting the shots of all those bags couldn't have been easy, (I could be wrong) but either way that's impressive. Secondly, the camera work was excellent. There was amazing detail that went into every single shot and everyone was well thought out. I thought they were all beautifully done. With that said, the beginning of the story made me feel like (where are we going and how fast can we get there). It was only after the bag finds life without civilzation, heads toward the beach and enters the water that it suddenly hit me, this was a PSA. That being said I think there are certain elements that could have shortened this film to get to (what I feel) is the director's point, I could be wrong though.

  5. Will Wendel: I thought the film was a little creepy at the beginning but I could also tell that there was an underlying message to the film itself. Giving a plastic bag human qualities is a very interesting thing to do. It makes you think about what trash would say if it could talk. It also shows how much we impact our environment everyday. There is a solution to our environmental problems and this movie is trying to tell us that.

  6. I really didn't like that narrators voice. I like the idea of the movie, it was clever. Object with no use no purpose. I enjoyed the underwater shots a lot, the rest was just ok for me.
